Beginners in this class will be introduced to computer science concepts within a fun framework. The students will learn basic programming and associated logic through a drag and drop interface. They will begin by working with preprogrammed games but by the end of the week they will have designed and programmed their own games for parents and friends to play. More advanced students will be able to further develop their computing skills through more complex game design and programming. Throughout the class students will also build a functioning computer using PIPER kits in which they will program a game using drag and drop programming.
Level: Grade 3 – 5 with no computing experience or Grade 2 with some experience.
Cost: $125 for the week long camp – scholarships are available (lunch included)
